The Exchange could not operate without the help of the committees that help carry out its important functions. Participating on one of these committees is a great way to meet people and make you and your company known. Following is a list of the current active committees. Please contact the committee chairmen to volunteer to serve. It’s never too late to contribute and you are always welcome!
SUBCONTRACTORS COUNCIL

Advises and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors on issues of general concern to its membership or the subcontractor trades in particular.

Serves as Trustees of GCBX Political Committee and makes recommendations to the GCBX Political Committee on candidate interviews and endorsements. Evaluates Executive Director, negotiates Executive Director’s employment agreement, and makes recommendations to the Board on salary, employee benefits and other compensation.
MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, RETENTION BENEFITS, EVENTS AND , COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS COMMITTEE

Encourages membership development, recruitment and retention through coordination with the Membership Benefits & Events Committee. Reviews membership benefits package and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors on improvements to member benefits. Plans membership dinner meetings, social events and other special events. Responsible for press releases; publication of Blueprint Notes, the GCBX Newsletter; the GCBX Annual Membership Directory; other materials the Board of Directors may elect to publish. Research and select community service projects for the GCBX to support.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Develops ways for GCBX to offer educational opportunities to members including classes and seminars that will help them to better their companies and the industry as a whole. Particular focus on 14 hours of continuing education required for license renewal.
FINANCE COMMITTEE

Responsible for all financial activities including budget preparation, investments, investment policy, audit and financial reporting.
GOLF COMMITTEE

Plans all aspects of Spring, Summer and Fall GCBX Golf Tournaments.
GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE ~ Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte Counties

Scrutinizes local and state government electoral candidates, programs, regulations and processes for their impact on the building and construction industry. Leads roundtable discussions with government officials.
