John Corbett, Chief Executive Officer of CenterState Bank, announced recently that Shaun P. Merriman has been named Regional President for the bank’s West Region of Florida effective January 1, 2018. In this capacity, Merriman will take on leadership of the bank for the region including Hillsborough, Pinellas, Sarasota, and Manatee counties. Merriman will work closely with three other Community Presidents while continuing to maintain his current role as Community President of the Sarasota and Manatee counties. His office will remain located in Sarasota, Florida.
“Shaun has a distinguished career of building and leading great teams. His energy, experience, and commitment to our core values make him the ideal choice to be our new Regional President of West Florida,” stated Corbett as part of a series of changes in bank leadership across Florida. The strategic reorganization is to prepare for successful growth with the upcoming integration of Harbor Community Bank and Sunshine Bank as CenterState crosses over $10 billion in bank assets.
In response to the announcement, Merriman noted, “I am delighted to take on this additional responsibility and look forward to the future growth of CenterState in the Greater Tampa Bay Region!” He added, “We welcome the Harbor Community Bank and Sunshine Bank associates to this growing family of exceptional bankers. We are absolutely committed to our culture of outstanding customer service resulting in long-term banking relationships.”
