Speaker Bios:
Jeffery Martin graduated Flagler College with a BA in Business Administration/Phycology. He earned his CIC Designation in 1999 and has 30 years experience in insurance production primarily focusing on the construction arena. He was a retail agent with Love Douglas & Pope in Atlanta with a concentration in Construction risks. In 2001, Jeffery started a wholesale operation called Pacific Wholesale Insurance Brokerage and build the company from 0 revenue to over 8 million in revenue in 4 years. He then sold his interest and turned his focus back to brokering when he joined Trilogy Risk. He recently relocated from Atlanta to a satellite office in Lakewood Ranch, FL.
John Heaney is a Subcontractor Risk Manager for Gilbane Building Company. Mr. Heaney joined Gilbane in January of 2008, spending five years in operations before transferring to the Risk Management Group in 2013. Mr. Heaney is responsible for overseeing the administration of the Company’s CCIP and CDI programs, insurance contract negotiations and subcontractor prequalification from New Jersey down to the Florida. He works closely with Gilbane’s safety, purchasing, legal and operations departments. Mr. Heaney holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master in Business in Administrations from the University of New Hampshire.
Gabriel Valls is an Assistant Vice President and serves as the National Head of Subguard for North America. He is responsible for leading underwriting operations, interacting with the broader market and maintaining relationships with insureds. Under Gab's leadership, Zurich has led the evolution of the Subguard Market. Gab holds a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in finance and accounting from New York University and a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Columbia University in New York City. Gab joined Zurich in 2011 as a Senior Account Executive within the Construction Practice. Since this time, he has assumed the national role within Subguard. Gab has 15 years of combined insurance and construction experience.
