Local Contractors Help Local Youth Build Better Futures
Local Contractors all of whom are members of the Gulf Coast Builders Exchange (GCBX) have teamed up with Sarasota Teen Court and the Police Athletic League to construct an obstacle course for use by Camp X-RAYD (an acronym for Examining the Realities About Your Decisions) participants.
With major remodeling of Knights Trail Park being undertaken by Sarasota County, the obstacle course used by the Camp X-RAYD participants has deteriorated and was no longer safe for the activities. Coming to the rescue of the program is GCBX who stepped in with an offer to rebuild the obstacle course.
Camp XRAYD is a component of the Teen Court Program for juveniles involved with illegal substances and was implemented in 1988 for the purpose of reducing juvenile crime in Sarasota County by interrupting delinquent behavior through an alternative to the traditional court system.
